UBI Can and Will Be an Existential Solution for the 21st Century

UBI is not just a tool, but a necessity in the 21st century. As today’s society is characterized as civilized, we are witnessing an abnormal inequality where a minority owns the majority of the world’s wealth, it is time to finally go beyond that framework and break the status quo.

Ivan Vilibor Sinčić is the first MEP of the current parliamentary term to open the issue of the Universal Basic Income (UBI) whose introduction would drastically affect the standard and life of the entire EU population, and thus all Croatian citizens. UBI would be a turning point and, we can freely say, one of the most daring and the most valuable projects that would mark the 21st century.

“A large number of citizens lost their jobs, factories were destroyed, there is no perspective, debt slavery is raging, and the current political establishment does not offer a solution,” Sinčić said.

Namely, the solution to many problems Sinčić finds in UBI, as a tool that would help many because the citizens would be guaranteed a certain amount of money on a monthly basis, universal and equal for all.

“UBI is not just a tool, but a necessity in the 21st century. As today’s society is characterized as civilized, we are witnessing an abnormal inequality where a minority owns the majority of the world’s wealth, it is time to finally go beyond that framework and break the status quo. In order to achieve a Universal Basic Income (UBI), I will do my best in my mandate as a Member of the European Parliament to introduce it”, Sinčić emphasized.
